Ecclesiastes 2:10-11
New International Version
10 I denied myself nothing my eyes desired;
I refused my heart no pleasure.
My heart took delight in all my labor,
and this was the reward fur all my toil.
11 Yet when I surveyed all that my hands had done
and what I had toiled to achieve,
everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind;
nothing was gained under the sun.

One of my personal faves ^^

That's beautiful. All toil is meaningless, all joy is delusion, all men are slaves; only through God may Man find Purpose... but there is no God, no Light in the Sky. Such beautiful, terrible, brilliant implications.

In the beginning[b] was the Word,
and the Word was with God,
    and the Word was God.
2
He was in the beginning with God.
3
[c]All things came to be through him,
and without him nothing came to be.
What came to be 4 through him was life,
    and this life was the light of the human race;
5
[d]the light shines in the darkness,
and the darkness has not overcome it.

6 [e]A man named John was sent from God. 7 He came fur testimony,[f] to testify to the light, so that all might believe through him. 8 He was not the light, but came to testify to the light. 9 The true light, which enlightens everyone, was coming into the world.

10
He was in the world,
and the world came to be through him,
but the world did not know him.
11
He came to what was his own,
but his own people[g] did not accept him.

12 But to those who did accept him he gave power to become children of God, to those who believe in his name, 13 [h]who were born not by natural generation nor by human choice nor by a man’s decision but of God.

14
And the Word became flesh[i]
and made his dwelling among us,
    and we saw his glory,
the glory as of the Father’s only Son,
    full of grace and truth.

15 [j]John testified to him and cried out, saying, “This was he of whom I said, ‘The one who is coming after me ranks ahead of me because he existed befure me.’” 16 From his fullness we have all received, grace in place of grace,[k] 17 because while the law was given through Moses, grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. 18 No one has ever seen God. The only Son, God,[l] who is at the Father’s side, has revealed him.

19 [m]And this is the testimony of John. When the Jews[n] from Jerusalem sent priests and Levites [to him] to ask him, “Who are you?” 20 [o]he admitted and did not deny it, but admitted, “I am not the Messiah.” 21 So they asked him, “What are you then? Are you Elijah?”[p] And he said, “I am not.” “Are you the Prophet?” He answered, “No.” 22 So they said to him, “Who are you, so we can give an answer to those who sent us? What do you have to say fur yourself?” 23 He said:

“I am ‘the voice of one crying out in the desert,
“Make straight the way of the Lord,”’[q]

as Isaiah the prophet said.” 24 Some Pharisees[r] were also sent. 25 They asked him, “Why then do you baptize if you are not the Messiah or Elijah or the Prophet?” 26 John answered them, “I baptize with water;[s] but there is one among you whom you do not recognize, 27 the one who is coming after me, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to untie.” 28 This happened in Bethany across the Jordan,[t] where John was baptizing.

18 Now this is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about. When his mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph,[g] but befure they lived together, she was found with child through the holy Spirit. 19 Joseph her husband, since he was a righteous man,[h] yet unwilling to expose her to shame, decided to divorce her quietly. 20 Such was his intention when, behold, the angel of the Lord[i] appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary your wife into your home. Fur it is through the holy Spirit that this child has been conceived in her. 21 She will bear a son and you are to name him Jesus,[j] because he will save his people from their sins.” 22 All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet:

23 [k]“Behold, the virgin shall be with child and bear a son,
and they shall name him Emmanuel,”

which means “God is with us.” 24 When Joseph awoke, he did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took his wife into his home. 25 He had no relations with her until she bore a son,[l] and he named him Jesus.

Note that "until she bore a son" doesnt mean that after they had sex, its a language barrier but it has always been believed the Virgin Mary remained virgin her whole life.

Happy Day After Christmas Day

Those who are kind benefit themselves,
but the cruel bring ruin on themselves.

18 A wicked person earns deceptive wages,
but the one who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward.

19 Truly the righteous attain life,
but whoever pursues evil finds death.

20 The Lord detests those whose hearts are perverse,
but he delights in those whose ways are blameless.

21 Be sure of this: The wicked will not go unpunished,
but those who are righteous will go free.

22 Like a gold ring in a pig’s snout
is a beautiful woman who shows no discretion.

23 The desire of the righteous ends only in good,
but the hope of the wicked only in wrath.

24 One person gives freely, yet gains even more;
another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty.

25 A generous person will prosper;
whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.

26 People curse the one who hoards grain,
but they pray God’s blessing on the one who is willing to sell.

27 Whoever seeks good finds favor,
but evil comes to one who searches fur it.

28 Those who trust in their riches will fall,
but the righteous will thrive like a green leaf.

29 Whoever brings ruin on their family will inherit only wind,
and the fool will be servant to the wise.

30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life,
and the one who is wise saves lives.

31 If the righteous receive their due on earth,
how much more the ungodly and the sinner!

1 The words of Qoheleth son of David, king in Jerusalem.

2
Vanity of vanities, says Qoheleth,
vanity of vanities! Everything is vanity.
3
What profit does anyone gain from all his labor
at which he toils under the sun?

There Is Nothing New under the Sun

4
One generation passes away and another generation succeeds it,
but the earth stands firm furever.
5
The sun rises and the sun sets;
then it returns to the place where it rises.
6
The wind blows southward and then veers to the north,
constantly turning as it repeats its course.
7
All the rivers go to the sea,
and yet the sea never overflows,
fur the rivers continue to return
    to their place of origin.
8
All things are wearisome
    and very difficult to express.
The eyes are not satisfied with seeing
and the ears do not have their fill of hearing.
9
What has been will be so again,
    and what has been done will be done again;
there is nothing new under the sun.
10
Whatever is perceived to be new
has already existed in the ages befure us.
11
Those people who died in ages past
    are no longer remembered,
and the people yet to be born
will not be remembered by those who come after them.

The Impossible Happiness

12 Much Wisdom, Much Anguish. When I, Qoheleth, ruled as king over Israel in Jerusalem, 13 I applied the wisdom I possessed to study and explore everything that is done under the sun, a thankless task that God has given to men to keep us occupied. 14 I have seen everything that has been done under the sun, and behold, all is vanity and a chase after the wind.

15
What is crooked cannot be made straight,
and what is lacking cannot be counted.

16 I thought to myself, “I have acquired great wisdom, far surpassing all those who preceded me in Jerusalem. My mind has mastered every facet of wisdom and knowledge.” 17 However, as I applied my mind to gain a complete understanding of wisdom and knowledge, madness and folly, I came to realize that this too is a chase after the wind.

18
Fur much wisdom can result in much sorrow,
and those who increase their knowledge also increase their grief.

2 My brothers and sisters, believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ must not show favoritism. 2 Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in filthy old clothes also comes in. 3 If you show special attention to the man wearing fine clothes and say, “Here’s a good seat fur you,” but say to the poor man, “You stand there” or “Sit on the floor by my feet,” 4 have you not discriminated among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts?

5 Listen, my dear brothers and sisters: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him? 6 But you have dishonored the poor. Is it not the rich who are exploiting you? Are they not the ones who are dragging you into court? 7 Are they not the ones who are blaspheming the noble name of him to whom you belong?

8 If you really keep the royal law found in Scripture, “Love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing right. 9 But if you show favoritism, you sin and are convicted by the law as lawbreakers. 10 Fur whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it. 11 Fur he who said, “You shall not commit adultery,” also said, “You shall not murder.” If you do not commit adultery but do commit murder, you have become a lawbreaker.

12 Speak and act as those who are going to be judged by the law that gives freedom, 13 because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

Judging Others

7 “Do not judge, so that you may not be judged. 2 Fur with the judgment you make you will be judged, and the measure you give will be the measure you get. 3 Why do you see the speck in your neighbor’s eye, but do not notice the log in your own eye? 4 Or how can you say to your neighbor, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ while the log is in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your neighbor’s eye.

Profaning the Holy

6 “Do not give what is holy to dogs; and do not throw your pearls befure swine, or they will trample them under foot and turn and maul you.

Ask, Search, Knock

7 “Ask, and it will be given you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened fur you. 8 Fur everyone who asks receives, and everyone who searches finds, and fur everyone who knocks, the door will be opened. 9 Is there anyone among you who, if your child asks fur bread, will give a stone? 10 Or if the child asks fur a fish, will give a snake? 11 If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask him!

The Golden Rule

12 “In everything do to others as you would have them do to you; fur this is the law and the prophets.

The Narrow Gate

13 “Enter through the narrow gate; fur the gate is wide and the road is easy that leads to destruction, and there are many who take it. 14 Fur the gate is narrow and the road is hard that leads to life, and there are few who find it.

A Tree and Its Fruit

15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thorns, or figs from thistles? 17 In the same way, every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus you will know them by their fruits.

Concerning Self-Deception

21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many deeds of power in your name?’ 23 Then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; go away from me, you evildoers.’

Hearers and Doers

24 “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock. 25 The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on rock. 26 And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not act on them will be like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell—and great was its fall!”

28 Now when Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were astounded at his teaching, 29 fur he taught them as one having authority, and not as their scribes.

4 Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted[a] by the devil. 2 After fasting furty days and furty nyaghts, he was hungry. 3 The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”

4 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’[b]”

5 Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. 6 “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down. Fur it is written:

“‘He will command his angels concerning you,
and they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’[c]”

7 Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’[d]”

8 Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. 9 “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.”

10 Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! Fur it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’[e]”

11 Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.

Lent started this wednesday, its 40 days befure Easter referencing the days Jesus spent in the desert. During these days christians are called to honor God by limitting themselves. Fasts and abstinences usually, but you can do personal challenges aswell. Im going to try to be away from most social medias during lent so i wont be here much. Have a great time and God bless
My thoughts on pelagianism, which is basically the idea that you can attain justifying righteousness through your own merit either totally apart from God's grace (pelagianism denies original sin, so that it can potentially be you totally saving yourself, whereas semi-pelagianism accepts that you need baptism, but beyond that, justifying righteous is at least potentially from you without grace.) at least thats what I think it means ha.

pelagianism generally comes because you think a man cannot be held responsible for a sin, if it is impossible for him to choose otherwise from doing the sin. Therefore, it must always be at least technically possible, however utterly impracticable, for any man to commit no sin, all by ourselves without needing any help from God (grace), if we are to be able to be blamed for the sin in the first place; and, that wherever it was impossible to choose otherwise, we were simply not culpable.

The refutation of this view is thus: you actually CAN be morally required to do something that is impossible for you (by human strength alone) to choose otherwise from, if there is an aquirable divine grace that would allow you succeed in resisting the evil choice.

if it would be possible for you to choose otherwise from an evil act with divine assistance that you could have chosen to aquire, you are still left culpable for the act, meaning our moral standard by which we are judged by is not just what we are capible on our own, but what we are capible with the help from grace.

As such, it is fair to presume that because of this standard, divine grace is truly and thoroughly nessisary for our salvation, not just for our initial justification (removal of original sin through baptism), but also for the ongoing sanctifaction that saves you also. Not just practically, but totally without exception. My thinking now is there is actually no way you can resist the temptations of satan and concupisance without the help of Grace, and the protections of your guardian angel, such that you can be rightous on your own. We are not meant to do good on our own, we are meant to be dependents on God's grace.

24 At a lodging place on the way, the Lord met Moses and was about to kill him. 25 But Zipporah took a flint knife, cut off her son’s foreskin and touched Moses’ feet with it. “Surely you are a bridegroom of blood to me,” she said. 26 So the Lord let him alone.

12 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brothers and sisters, I do not want you to be uninformed. 2 You know that when you were pagans, you were enticed and led astray to idols that could not speak. 3 Therefore I want you to understand that no one speaking by the Spirit of God ever says ‘Let Jesus be cursed!’ and no one can say ‘Jesus is Lord’ except by the Holy Spirit.

4 Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; 5 and there are varieties of services, but the same Lord; 6 and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who activates all of them in everyone. 7 To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. 8 To one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, 10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the discernment of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. 11 All these are activated by one and the same Spirit, who allots to each one individually just as the Spirit chooses.
One Body with Many Members

12 For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. 13 For in the one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.

14 Indeed, the body does not consist of one member but of many. 15 If the foot were to say, ‘Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body’, that would not make it any less a part of the body. 16 And if the ear were to say, ‘Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body’, that would not make it any less a part of the body. 17 If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole body were hearing, where would the sense of smell be? 18 But as it is, God arranged the members in the body, each one of them, as he chose. 19 If all were a single member, where would the body be? 20 As it is, there are many members, yet one body. 21 The eye cannot say to the hand, ‘I have no need of you’, nor again the head to the feet, ‘I have no need of you.’ 22 On the contrary, the members of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, 23 and those members of the body that we think less honourable we clothe with greater honour, and our less respectable members are treated with greater respect; 24 whereas our more respectable members do not need this. But God has so arranged the body, giving the greater honour to the inferior member, 25 that there may be no dissension within the body, but the members may have the same care for one another. 26 If one member suffers, all suffer together with it; if one member is honoured, all rejoice together with it.

27 Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it. 28 And God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers; then deeds of power, then gifts of healing, forms of assistance, forms of leadership, various kinds of tongues. 29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? 30 Do all possess gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret? 31 But strive for the greater gifts. And I will show you a still more excellent way.

This is talking about the Church of Christ and how every member of the chosen people of God (the members of his Church) has been given differen qualities but because all are given by the Holy Spirit we are called to put those gifts in good use to help the Church and please God
